When locating a particular place it is key for the signage to be easy to find and read. After visiting the dormitories at SUNY New Paltz, specifically the dorm Shawangunk, it was evident that the signage lacked legibility. In order to come up with a solution for this problem I found out that each dormitory on campus is given a mascot which represents a group of common people in public with a sense of identity. With this knowledge I made renovations to Shawangunk's current outdoor signage based on its given mascot, the bee.
The bee mascot inspired the honeycomb-like design of the railing.
